Welcome to Journi! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) outline the rules that apply when you use our website, digital membership, benefits platform, and related services (“Services”). By using Journi, you agree to these Terms — so please read them carefully.

1. Who We Are

Journi is a travel membership community offering curated discounts, travel perks, and resources for backpackers and adventurous travelers. The Services are operated by Journi Ventures Limited.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By signing up for a Journi membership, using our website, or redeeming any benefits, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use our Services.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we’ll notify you via email, the website, or your mobile wallet pass. Continuing to use the Services means you accept the updated Terms.

3. Eligibility

To use Journi, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Provide accurate, up-to-date information.

  • Not be barred from using our Services under applicable law.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any membership we believe violates these Terms.

4. Your Membership

A. Membership Perks
Your Journi membership gives you access to:

  • Digital membership card (Apple/Google Wallet compatible)

  • Discounts with verified partner businesses

  • Exclusive travel content and community features

  • Referral rewards and limited-time promos

Exact perks may vary by location, plan type, or time of year. We don’t guarantee any specific discount, availability, or partner offering at all times.
While discounts are designed for Journi members, similar promotions may occasionally be available through public channels, at the discretion of our partners.

B. Use Responsibly
You agree not to:

  • Misrepresent your identity

  • Share or resell your membership or digital card

  • Abuse partner discounts (e.g., using fake IDs or expired cards)

  • Interfere with our website or digital tools

Misuse may result in revocation of your membership without a refund.

5. Digital Membership Card

Your digital card is your key to accessing perks. It includes your name, expiry date, photo, and a QR or member ID code.

We may revoke or update your card if:

  • It expires

  • We suspect fraud or misuse

  • Your membership is cancelled or refunded

You can add your card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet for easy access. Push notifications are optional and can be managed in your settings.

6. Payments & Billing

Memberships are paid in advance, either monthly or annually (unless stated otherwise in a promotion). For clarity on membership durations:

  • 2-week memberships refer to 14 days

  • 2-month memberships refer to 60 days

  • 6-month memberships refer to 183 days

  • Annual memberships refer to 365 days

All payments are securely processed via third-party providers (e.g., Stripe or Wise). We don’t store your payment details.

We don’t currently offer auto-renewals, but we may introduce this in the future. You’ll be notified ahead of any such change.

Refunds: We generally do not offer refunds except where required by law or in exceptional cases (e.g., double charges, technical errors). If you're unhappy, reach out — we’re here to help.

7. Referral Programs and Promotional Incentives

From time to time, Journi may offer referral programs, promotional incentives, or other rewards (such as gift cards or credits) to its members. Participation in any such program or the receipt of any incentive is strictly subject to specific, detailed terms and conditions applicable to that particular program.

By participating in any referral program, including but not limited to the "Refer a Friend" program, you expressly agree to be bound by the full Referral Program Terms and Conditions, which can be found at the dedicated Referral Programs Terms and Conditions page.

Please note that we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate any referral program or promotional incentive at any time, with or without prior notice. Any abuse of these systems (e.g., creating fake accounts, engaging in spam tactics, or any fraudulent activity) may, in our sole discretion, result in immediate disqualification from the program, forfeiture of all pending and earned rewards, and potential termination of your Journi account.

8. Partners & Discounts

We partner with independent businesses (“Partners”) to offer perks and discounts exclusively to active Journi members. Only members with a valid, non-expired digital membership card installed in their Apple or Google Wallets are eligible to redeem these benefits.

We strive to ensure all listings are accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee:

  • That all listed discounts will always be available

  • That partners will remain in the program indefinitely

  • That partner staff will always honor the deal (though we take this seriously and investigate all reports)

Important Notice: While we curate discounts specifically for Journi members, we cannot guarantee that our partners do not also offer similar deals publicly, through other organizations, seasonal promotions, or walk-in specials.

Access to a JourniCard membership does not guarantee exclusivity of discount availability, and we make no representation that our deals are always the best or only available rates at a given location.

By joining Journi, you acknowledge that any overlap between our offers and other publicly available promotions is possible and does not constitute grounds for refund, legal claim, or compensation.

You further acknowledge that Journi is not responsible for the services, pricing, or conduct of third-party partners.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the site—text, graphics, logos, photos, videos, etc.—belongs to Journi or is used with permission. You agree not to copy, modify, sell, or use our content without our written consent.

You retain rights to any content you post (e.g., reviews or forum posts), but grant us a license to use and share it to promote the community.

10. Limitation of Liability

Journi is offered “as-is” and “as available.” While we work hard to keep things running smoothly, we can’t guarantee the Services will be error-free or uninterrupted.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we’re not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or special damages

  • Loss of discounts or missed travel opportunities

  • Pricing discrepancies or unadvertised public discounts

  • Partner issues or third-party behavior

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your membership in the last 12 months.

11. Termination

You can cancel your membership anytime by contacting us. If you cancel, you may continue using your perks until the expiry date, unless otherwise agreed.

We may suspend or terminate access if:

  • You violate these Terms

  • We discontinue the Services

  • We’re required to by law

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be handled in local courts, unless another method is mutually agreed.
